Understanding the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures of any adversary is key to understanding your defence or counter initiative.  Serial Killers are a much studied criminal collective and this session will explore some of the findings those studies have yielded, including personality types, psychosis, methodologies, offence signatures etc.  But what about the application of the same considerations against the cybercriminal cohort?  What can we learn of criminal methodology, motivation and execution, that can inform the defence against these threats.  This session will evoke thought and debate but there are lessons to learn about the deeper issue of offender psychology and behaviour.  Defence is not just about vulnerabilities and patching regimes, but understanding the human motivation, target selection, and methodology adoption.  Understanding the mind of your adversary can improve your defence posture.
