I am approaching my third decade as an IT professional, most which has been spent in cybersecurity; having engineered solutions (both technical and procedural) long-before it was considered an industry (joined AusCERT in 1998 and stayed for 12 years). I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in the growth of information security methodologies and technology throughout my career working with various local and international educational, governmental and commercial organisations.
My latest venture is to split my focus between The University of Queensland as a “Cyber Security Governance Specialist”, developing cybersecurity training programs for other organisations and facilitating creative activities with neurodiverse children at The Experience Collectors (TEC/TECAntz).
I am the father of two neurodiverse children (ASD-level 2) – both of whom are super-bright and talented (Father bias included here of course) and for both of whom I am on their life-journeys with them as they navigate our predominantly neuro-typically-structured society.
